Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II (2003)

Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II is an action role-playing game developed by Webfoot Technologies and published by Atari for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. It was released in North America on June 17, 2003, and in Europe on July 4, 2003. The game is the sequel to Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku, and follows the story of Goku and his friends as they battle against the evil Cell.

The game introduces several new features to the series, including transformations, which allow characters to become temporarily stronger, at the cost of slowly draining their energy. It also introduces the scouter, which allows players to look up the stats of other characters in the game, as well as basic information about them. The game also introduces charged melee attacks, which allow characters to unleash a powerful physical strike after a short charging period. The game also allowed characters to further supplement their stats with capsules that were scattered around the game world.

Despite being titled “The Legacy of Goku” this game featured the most limited play as the character Goku.

The game’s story follows the events of the Cell Games Saga from the Dragon Ball Z anime and manga. The game begins with Goku and his friends training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in preparation for the Cell Games. After emerging from the chamber, they learn that Cell has absorbed Androids 17 and 18, and has become even more powerful.

Goku and his friends challenge Cell to a battle, but they are quickly overwhelmed. Gohan, Goku’s son, is the only one who is able to stand up to Cell, and he eventually defeats him with a powerful Kamehameha wave.
