Escape Dead Island: A Thrilling Survival-Mystery Adventure
Escape Dead Island is a 2014 survival-mystery adventure game developed by Fatshark and published by Deep Silver. It is a spin-off of the Dead Island series, and follows a new protagonist, Cliff Calo, as he investigates the unexplained events on the island of Banoi.
Story
Cliff Calo is a documentary filmmaker who sets sail to the island of Banoi to document the unexplained events that occurred there. Upon arriving on the island, he finds that not everything is as it seems. The island is overrun with zombies, and Cliff must fight for his survival while trying to uncover the truth behind the outbreak.
As Cliff explores the island, he discovers that there is more to the zombie outbreak than meets the eye. He learns that the outbreak was caused by a virus that was released by a secret organization known as the “Phoenix Corporation.” The Phoenix Corporation was experimenting with the virus in an attempt to create a biological weapon.
Cliff must now race against time to stop the Phoenix Corporation and prevent the virus from spreading to the rest of the world. He must also find a way to escape from the island, which is becoming increasingly overrun with zombies.
Gameplay
Escape Dead Island is a survival-mystery adventure game. Players control Cliff Calo as he explores the island of Banoi, fights zombies, and solves puzzles. The game features a variety of weapons and tools that Cliff can use to survive, including guns, melee weapons, and gadgets.
Players must also manage their resources carefully, as food and water are scarce on the island. They must also be aware of their surroundings, as zombies are always lurking nearby.
In addition to the main story, Escape Dead Island also features a number of side quests and challenges. Players can complete these quests to earn rewards, such as new weapons and upgrades.
Reception
Escape Dead Island received mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the game’s atmosphere and story, while others criticized its repetitive gameplay and technical issues. The game was also a commercial failure, selling only a fraction of what the previous Dead Island games had sold.
Despite its mixed reception, Escape Dead Island is still a solid survival-mystery adventure game. It features a compelling story, atmospheric setting, and challenging gameplay. Fans of the Dead Island series or survival-horror games in general should definitely check it out.
